Prof. Dr. Dra. Sunarti, M.Kes. merupakan Guru Besar Departemen Biokimia, Fakultas Kedokteran, Kesehatan Masyarakat, dan Keperawatan (FK-KMK) Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) sejak tahun 2019. Setelah lulus dari program sarjana di Fakultas Biologi, beliau melanjutkan pendidikan master dan doktoral di Fakultas Kedokteran UGM. Beliau pernah menjabat sebagai Ketua Departemen Biokimia selama dua periode yaitu pada tahun 2010 – 2014 dan 2016 – 2020. Dedikasi diri yang tinggi sebagai dosen mengantarkan beliau meraih berbagai penghargaan, salah satunya yaitu predikat Dosen Berprestasi FK-KMK UGM. Beliau juga aktif melakukan penelitian mengenai manfaat terapi diet dalam penanganan penyakit terutama sindrom metabolik dengan pendekatan kajian nutrigenomik dan proses biokimiawi. Ketertarikan beliau pada bidang ini telah menghasilkan beberapa buku ajar, berbagai produk inovasi dengan hak kekayaan intelektual, dan sejumlah artikel ilmiah yang dipublikasikan di jurnal bereputasi. Hingga saat ini, beliau aktif dalam penelitian terkait nutrigenomik dan pengembangan makanan fungsional yang telah menghasilkan produk inovasi dengan bekerja sama dengan industri.
